BAZ DESERVE A PALLID ON THE BACK
Well at last and after a week of trying and god knows how many trips to foreness,barry yet again turns up trumps,another pallid he found,lost count how many he has found in the last week,all i can say barry never give up birding,i take my hat of to you,i wish i was half as good a birder like you,me and martyn was in the valley at first light this morning and a tweet came across about a swift sp in botany bay,a quick ring to barry and he said he keep us informed,in mean time phil has phoned saying he heading that way,then the phone call that every birder dreams about it showing well within a few feet,next thing you knew we was in margate twicthing a pallid swift giving us stunning views buzzing over are heads
just got to wait for the speeding tickets now,the next thing you knew there was another pallid and another three in total,shit how often does that happen, bet you it it will never happen again in my life time,took a few poor shots,
yet again i want to thank barry as a mate,i hope rest of kent will as well,super stuff mate and glad you still birding

ANOTHER RAVEN
Yet another raven for me this year been lucky this year in kent my 11th this year all at different spots around kent, but mainly on the coast there seem to beginning to spread across form east to north coast,i seen then elmley,dover,dungerness,recuvler,margate and stodmarsh,can you guess where i saw this one taken yesterday early morning before i went to dungerness,i did have a change of venue before i went, a few clues i went into canterbury and fill my car up and headed up along the sturry road towards........................no i did not tweet out as my phone was plugged in to my stereo,it was another park the car up on the bank and rattle a few shots of

NO IT A TURNSTONE
Yep it is a turnstone,as everyone else is taking photos of the glossy i took advantaged of the good weather and headed to the coast,yes i got a few shots of the ibis but they went straight in the bin,still got a couple of thousand of the last two that visted grove
as i still got a sore back trying to keep the walking down to zero,try for something different tomorrow as i can see we be over run with the same photos again

EASY DAY
i took things easy today quick vist to the harbour still very quiet single shag, flock of brents flew pass,four snow buntings on the harbour pad briefly,meeting martyn at reed bed hide to see the glossy ibis a short video of it as it was raining hard

LOXIA PYTYOPSITTACUS
Title somes everything up,if i need a kent tick i will go bad back or not,went to hope point to try and find the richards pipits after limping down the track and into the rough the richards flew up and landed to the right of me giving super views making it to my kent list as 290no with this i limped back to the car and called it a day and spent the rest of the day on the sofa.today i arranged to meet martyn and alan and go and twitch the two barr and hopefully the parrot,having arriving at the place and meeting murray, we waited with a few crossbills flying about then the rain started so odds where not good,so we hung around and it brightened up with blues skys all we needed was the crossbills then they arrived calling all the time along with a strange call which turned out to be the two barr,which gave cracking views in the dead pine,best was yet to come it landed in the oak opposite us,so i ook a few shots
then they flew of so in the mean time john and mike and others turned up,the time was getting on so we where just leaving then there return,in the mean time alan was being alan looking elsewhere and he alerted martyn to some birds in the bottom pines,then the words where said xxxxxxx parrots crossbills,so everyone stopped looking at the two barr and looked at the parrots male and female bloody hell what a head them birds have made the crossbills look stupid,the atmosphere was electric with a few top listers need it what a day kent birding at it best

BITS AND BOBS
Few hours to spare before my mid week break headed back up to thanet meeting barry a few bits and bobs floating about,a lapland bunting was feeding on the path which gave us the chance of a few shots
then breaking news of a pallas warbler and yellow brown in northdown park,finally got to see the pallas and heard the ybw

JUST A FEW
after yesterday heavy down pour and birds dropping form the sky it has be a couple of swell days with me picking up my 289 kent tick in the shape of a leach's petrel from the towers yesterday and nearly being hit by a incoming firecrest that landed next to me redwings glory, a blackredstart
that was just feeding soon as it landed brambling glory, birds birds everywhere it was a sight to remember,so on that note i arranged to meet barry at wapole bay,arriving early and meeting adam first we saw was a wheatear and lapland bunting good start,three brambling was hogging the fence line as we walked down.
the count was 7 lapland 3 jacksnipe 1 black red 1 red loads of redwing and bramling,1great spot,but the birds where moving inland so this note we headed to plumpudding hoping for some move goodies plenty of goldcrest but sod all else headed down to cold harbour for the snow bunts that steve had,we never found them headed of to meet steve who has head a male redstart to himself proved very entertaining where we went the bird went the other way
walking back we also saw 2 ring ouzels end to a super day

HEART FELT LOSS
how to begin we had oswald from 10 months old as a rescue bunny,a bright orange rex,he had his own personalty full of beans and bags load of character he was a feisty sod everything was on his terms,he had been ill for nearly a month after he was diagnosed with cancer of the toe,he finally gave up on tuesday with jackie with him till the end, he will be sadly missed by everyone that knew him,been a hard couple of weeks but he at peace now and not suffering anymore my boy

FOGGY ON THE FLEET
Having made every attempt to twitch the lesser grey shrike last nite that mike and gary had found on the fleet on sheppey,i made my way back up there this morning, arriving at six oclock to my astonishment nobody else was about with a thick blanket of fog i made my way picking up a couple of people on the way so we wandered down the field in thick fog,as the sunny was making appearance bingo 288 for kent was sitting on top of a bush with this i tweeted the news out,only then did i realise i had left my car in the back of the car,a brisk walk back bumping into frank,ray and his wife,we where soon back on the scene with the strike only 100yds away but no light,did manage a few shots

LIMITED TIME
After the weekend having added my 287 bird on my kent list in the shape off a red breasted flycatcher and spending the rest of sunday at kings wood staring at crossbills 18 in all but no two bar,wednesday it was spent at stuarts and plum pudding in the evening seeing a single stonechat and whinchat in the same bush and a lone LEO sitting in a bush
this evening up on the swale watching the red neck grebe and a stunning grey plover in summer plumage,no tweets were sent as phone has died as i dropped it in water ok i admit down the loo long story so a couple of ddddistant shots of the plover
